The Perfect Marriage

If you were asked to describe the perfect marriage, what would you say? Would you say it’s one where you found the man/woman of your dreams and are living a perfect life of daily happiness? Here’s what I would say: “A perfect marriage completes me.” It’s one where my spouse is my other half, literally and metaphorically. My spouse balances me and helps me understand myself better. Is it a perfect existence? Well, here’s the exact definition of perfection as found in the Google dictionary. “The condition, state, or quality of being free or as free as possible from all flaws or defects.”

Well, that’s hardly my life. But I would be the first to tell you that I am complete. Our flaws are inescapable. There is no ‘perfect’ man or woman, and that’s the first step: recognize that you are not flawless. Once we accept that we are all flawed, it makes it that much easier to accept each other’s flaws. Trust me, we have a lot on each side and yet, together, that seem to all fade away.
