Amaal for Finding a Spouse

Here is a short amaal that can be recited to assist in finding a spouse InshaAllah.

They are divided into 4 sections below depending on who is performing the amaal:

1. To be recited by a female

2. To be recited by a male

3. To be recited by parent of a daughter

4. To be recited by parent of a son

To be recited by a female

1. Recite two rak’at namaz with niyyat of qurbatan ilal-lah.
2. Thank Allah by reciting ‘al-hamdu lil-lah’. (The hadith does not give a number for how
many time to recite, nonetheless doing a full tasbih would be appropriate.)
3. Then recite this du‘a.

Translation:
“O Allah, I have the intention of marriage.
O Allah, appoint for me from the men the most best one among them in appearance
and character, the most chaste, the most blessed in bounties and grace, and grant him
from me a good child who will be a good progeny for us in my life and after my death.”

To be recited by a male

1. Recite two rak’at namaz with the niyyat of qurtaban ilal-lah.
2. Thank Allah by reciting ‘al-hamdu lil-lah’. (The hadith does not give a number for how
many time to recite, nonetheless doing a full tasbih would be appropriate.)
3. Then recite the following du’a:

Translation:

“O Allah, I have the intention of marriage.
O Allah, appoint for me from the women the best one among them in appearance and character,
the most chaste, the most blessed in bounties, and grant me through her a good child who will be
a good progeny for us in my life and after my death.”

To be recited by parent of a daughter

1. Recite two rak’at namaz with niyyat of qurbatan ilal-lah.
2. Thank Allah by reciting ‘al-hamdu lil-lah’. (The hadith does not give a number for how
many time to recite, nonetheless doing a full tasbih would be appropriate.)
3. Then recite this du‘a:

Translation:
“O Allah, I have the wish for the marriage of my daughter.
So O Allah, appoint for her from the mu’mineen men from those who love the Ãl-e Muammad,
the best one among them in appearance and character, the most chaste, the most blessed in
bounties, and with great barakat,
and grant her through him a good child who will be a good progeny for me and her in her life
and after her death.”

To be recited by parent of a son

1. Recite two rak’at namaz with niyyat of qurbatan ilal-lah.
2. Thank Allah by reciting ‘al-hamdu lil-lah’. (The hadith does not give a number for how
many time to recite, nonetheless doing a full tasbih would be appropriate.)
3. Then recite this du‘a.

Translation:
“O Allah, I have the wish for the marriage of my son.
So O Allah, appoint for him from the mu’mina women from those who love the Ãl-e
Muammad, the best one among them in appearance and character, the most chaste, the most
blessed in bounties, and with great barakat,
and grant him through her a good child who will be a good progeny for me and him in his life
and after his death.”
